should the physical standby db be in a mounted or unmounted state ?

should the physical standby db be in a mounted or unmounted state ?

haven't used dgmgrl in a while and:

when i try to us dgmgrl and do a show configuration against the standby i get ,

Error:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
Process ID: 0
Session ID: 0 Serial number: 0

Configuration details cannot be determined by DGMGRL

apparently the standby is in an unmounted state ??

i do the show configuration against the primary and everthing shows ok

Configuration - lcccconfig

lccc - Primary database
lcccstby - Physical standby database (disabled)

SUCCESS
