Creating and modifying the Invoice Text field on Service and Subscription contracts

1.  Is there a way of changing the data that gets concatinated in the Invoice Text field.  Can this be done by Contract Category?

2.  After a contract is renewed, if the Invoice Text has previously been manually changed, then all the amendments disappear on the renewed contract.  Is there a way of retaining the original text?
