Material Workbench displaying () after LPN ?

Hi, Please direct me to the correct community if this is not it...it's what came up when I searched for Material Workbench.

Every once in awhile (i think it has happened maybe 5 times at the most so far this year), we get an LPN in our Material Workbench that has parenthesis () displayed after the name, i.e. B835 ().  I'm just curious if anyone else has ever came across this and figured out the cause?  When we query the actual table (wms.wms_license_plate_numbers), the license_plate_number just shows as B835.
