Asset Categories and Life Setup

Hi,

My company has the following requirement. There are assets under the same category but that can have different life.

Example a machine, can be exactly the same kind of asset but the life is different.

Is there any way that we can setup a single category in Oracle and override the life somewhere in the application or I definetely need to define multiple asset categories in this case?
