CO 07 and Products relationship

We have configured CO7 as a profile page for our suppliers. We needed to use multi-select picklists for selecting the categories/products they supply/deal with.

CO4 and above do not have MSPL available, therefore as an alternative we decided to use the product object for this.

I added the related information section, gave the access in the Access Profile and added the Product fields on the layout.

I can add a product using the Lookup window, however the related info. bar for products does not show the added product nor does it have any new/add buttons? Can I add multiple products to the Object record
