i had an occasion where the directory that holds the archivelogs on the physical standby server was set to read only... therefore no archivelogs were written for about

30 days, thru the hlelp of analysts in this community i was able to recover all the log files that weren't written and update the physical standby...

my question is  why wouldn't dataguard or the broker have recognized that log files weren't being applied to the standby and issued some kind of alert.. by the

time it was picked up by  a dgmgrl  'show configuration' , 30 days had elapsed..

Howdy, Stranger!
