Sophos antivirus configuration on oracle database server (Redhat linux)

edited Jun 7, 2013 4:24PM in Database Administration (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered
Does anyone have information on Sophos antivirus configuration for oracle database on Linux? We have configured Sophos to exclude the database file directories (database files, online redo logs, control files), but when I start up a database, Sophos uses about 98% of the CPU and the startup either takes very long, or the startup fails on some servers. Sophos tells us that setting a directory for eclusion will also exclude subdirectories as well (would like to confirm this). Is there anything else that needs to be excluded? With Sophos not running, startup of the databases is VERY fast.

Thanks,

Ron
