Projects Credits

From time to time we may receive a rebate or incentive on a capital or indirect project.  This is not really revenue.  But we still need it to credit the project as an expenditure item.  Currently we have AR code it to the GL account that needs to be offset  then we enter an accounted transactions in projects that credits the project for that amount.  Is there any standard functionality in Receivables that would allow a credit to be posted directly to a capital or indirect project without creating and invoice?
