Requesting information on gateways and ASM

We are currently using gateways for mount point access to a particular folder for users.We are in the process of moving to a new Oracle environment, in which we would like to implement ASM. If i move from mount points on server to ASM, will i be still able to restrict the users to particular folders in asm using gateways?
