Swap space Requirements
Hi,
For Oracle 11g installation, it is recommended to have swap space equal to the physical RAM
For example if we have 16 GB memory we need to have 16 GB swap space
The installation gives you a warning if you do not comply.
We have couple of questions on this
1) What is the reason / logic behind having a 16 GB swap space if we have a 16 GB RAM? What is the recommendation based on?
2) What would be be downside of not complying with this and with the current swap space (8 GB) proceed with the installation?
Thanks
