How to avoid HFM client configuration conflict, if using same host alias in prod and non-prod

In order to follow DR best practice.  We used same host alias in production and non-production.  This works like a charm for all other tool, except (full) HFM client.  Since the HFM cluster (different name of cluster in prod vs Non-prod) uses same host alias.  Is there anyway, to distinguish prod vs. Non-prod for HFM client configuration?
