Need Alternative to Infiniband Socket Direct Protocol (SDP) on RHEL 6

edited Jun 12, 2013 4:29AM in Linux Operating System (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered
Oracle Net Services 11g has support for Infiniband Socket Direct Protocol (SDP), however on RedHat RHEL 6 the libsdp.so is no longer available ( https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=586624 ).  SDP appears to be depreciated, and has been dropped from the latest OpenFabrics OFED release also.  Question - what is the best performing alternative?  I've been unable to tune IPoIB to anywhere close to the level of SDP performance.  This is for connectivity between application tier and database, not within a RAC.

Given the support of SDP in both Net Services and Java 7 versus the apparent end of SDP, can anyone offer comments on expected direction, i.e. will rsocket become supported?

Howdy, Stranger!
