Hi, we have a VSM5-SL8500 system with six rtds: F000 F001 F002 F003 F004 and F005.  In our tape room is a rack of what is supposedly empty-scratch mvcs that we have some doubts as to how pristine they are...ie we think some of them may be bad.

Let's say I have empty mvc M12345, that was sitting in this rack, and I enter it into our cap...reportedly has 0 vtvs on it....

Is there a way that I can, after I  mount mvc M12345 to a free rtd say rtd f005  (I presume using the console command  ^mount m12345 F005 )  then specifically run some batch job, say an iebgener that will write a vtv that gets directed specifically to that particular mvc m12345  ???       I think thats the only way I know that I would know for sure if that mvc m12345  has not gone moldy by sitting in that rack for 3 years, is to write a test dataset to it....but since the mvc is empty, and has no vtvs as of

Howdy, Stranger!
