Installation Error - patch cannot be applied

Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle Enterprise manager, 12cr2 on OracleLinux 6.3, 64 bit. The installation stops @ 36%, saying "Unable to continue with the installation because some on-off patches could not be applied successfully. To resolve this issue, review the following log file: /u01/app/oracle/oem/oms/cfgtoollogs/opatch".

The log file is in fact a directory, when I vi the generated log the last entry in this log is the following:

Patches 1398329s successfully applied
UtilSession: N-apply done.


So no indication of an error/exception whatsoever. Anyone seen this/had this/knows how to resolve?
