What are advantages of ASM & GRID on Single Instance

Hi Experts,
We have new project on implementing some third party integrated application  with 11g database in progress and planning to create new 11g standalone database for DEV/QA & PROD instances
I am recommending the business to consider single instance with ASM/GRID for better performance & administration for the database.
So, Kindly provide your recommendation and advantages of ASM & GRID on single instance over normal single instance, so that i can high light them to get approval

I think following are the major advantages:
1. ASM (Striping & Mirroring) 
2. Oracle Restart
3. GRID with CSS to maintain both ASM & Oracle Instance
