API for updating category

We have around 20,000 Items and we need to update the category of all the items. Using data loader is very time taken job.
Is there any API which can be used for uploading the same. We provide the API with the required Excel file in a required format and it will update the category.

Please provide me with a link or guide me that how the same can be done.
