Local Books - AM

I have a question regarding AM Business units. Currently, AM exists in North America, but we are expanding globally. I have created a "Local" asset book but when I go to define the AM Business Unit for the country, the new book I defined does not show up. Am I missing a set up step?

What is interesting is that the business unit already existed in the GL, so when I created the business unit in AM, the name defaulted (but I can't see the books). However, if I create a brand new business unit (one that doesnt exist in the GL), I can see the Local book that I created. Set IDS are the same
