sys. AUD$ table

Hello.

We are required to start auditing select and DML commands for certain groups of the users. This will lead to additional growth of the SYS.AUD$ table. If that table safe for us to manually delete old data from it? I don't think I have ever updated a system table so I am a little apprehensive. Oracle version is 10 and 11
