Journal Entry Document Number

I’ve attempted to have the system assign document numbers to the newly created journal entries without any success. I would appreciate any assistance you could provide to help me resolve this issue. The following are the steps taken to have the system automatically assign document numbering to newly created journal entries:

1.       Setup personal profile values for sequence numbering (general ledger – setup – other – profile). The “Sequential Numbering” was setup for the profile name with “Partially Used” for the default value and the user value is blank.

2.       Define the document sequence name “OGL SEQ NBR” in the document sequences window (general ledger – setup – financials – sequences = define). The “OGL SEQ NBR” name has been linked to the general ledger with an effective date from 05/17/2012, the effective date to has been left blank, they document sequences type was set to automatic, the message box was checked off, and the initial value was set to one (1).
