NFS client not relasing space

Hi,
Hi

we have a NFS Server (NetAPP) where we created a NFS volume (/vol/data) and exported it
Volume size is 100 gB

we mounted that on Linux (6.4 _X64) server as /u01/data and created some files that consumed most of the space

so df -m showed /u01 to be 99% full

We then deleted all the files from under /u01/data but it is not releasing the space
When we try to create a file it complains that there is not sufficient space and df -m still shows as 99% full

We unmounted and mounted the file system back again but no luck
