Form Design Aid - SV Form_Mode

I have a Find/Browse Form that is a copy of P0911Z1. When I debug P0911Z1, the value of SV Form_Mode becomes UPDATE_MODE as soon as the first line processes in Dialog is Initialized.

In the copy of the APPL, the value of SV Form Mode is null and remains that way.

Is there a setting that causes the form to go into UPDATE_MODE? or how is it that the P0911Z1 APPL goes into UPDATEE_MODE upon starting up?
