Allow Negative Balances option to be disabled

Hi Guru's,
User has enabled Allow Negative Balances option under Organization Parameters window. There are several transactions and onhand quantity exists under that particular organization.

Now user wants to disable the Allow Negative Balances option.

Please suggest what are the repercussions, if the above option is disabled.
