Do I need to apply Java SE CPU to an Oracle Database installation

edited Jun 23, 2013 6:53PM in Patch Reviews - DB (MOSC) 4 commentsAnswered ✓
We have Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.3 with latest CPU (April 2013). A recent scan highlighted vulnerabilties with the Java SE components that are installed as part of the database build (installed under $ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin and $ORACLE_HOME/jre/bin) . Do we still need to patch these using Java SE CPU (June) or would the Database CPU take care of them? I read the document titled "Impact of Java SE Security Vulnerabilities on Oracle Database and Fusion Middleware Products [ID 360870.1]" but could not figure out what the approach should be based on this document.

Any thoughts?
