Numeric Field Formatting

Hello,

Is there any way to supress the comma that appears in a field of type numeric or Integer. I would like to capture year in a custom field called Survey Year on Asset record. When the users enters 2013 and hits save, the value is appearing as 2,011. I would like the user to see it as 2011 with no comma. Any suggestion?
