Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. What is the difference between the Opportunity Type and Type fields on the Opportunity object?

Oppty. Type drives the dynamic layout, but what does the Type field do? It shows up as read only picklist?

Are its values driven like the Sales Stage field from the Admin section?
