WL and LDAP Question

 Will WC work without LDAP? In our case we use AD, but the same info that is in AD is stored in the database.  We are trying to simlify and instead of storing the same data in two places and keep them syncornized, just remove AD completly and store all users, roles and other user info in a few db tables.
