Electronic Signature - ERES

I read that Electronic Signature - ERES is meant for FDA compliance.  The profile option is available only at Site level. If I set the Profile option to Yes, and don't use it EAM, will there be an issue? The reason is other departments may want to use it (not EAM), even though we are not in food or drug manufacturing.
