Upgrade database for release 12

Dear All,
I know that the support for database 10g R2 will soon ended that is the end of July. One of my customer is running E-Business Suite 12.0.6 which come with the database 10g release 2 (10.2.0.3).
Therefore I would like to do an upgrade for the database, then my questions are as follow:
1. what is the recommended path to do this type of upgrade?
2. what should I watch out for E-Business Suite DB upgrade?
3. what can be the time duration for this database upgrade?

Can you please advice on the way to success this db upgrade?
