Additional Attribute for Delivery Grouping

We are already using eBS and we are rolling out eBS to a newly acquired business. The new business has shipping / fulfillment integration (EDI) with FedEx as a 3PL. Some of their products are hazardous. In order to integrate with FedEx to process Hazardous product, we must break out Hazardous product onto separate Deliveries from non-hazardous products. There is no existing Attribute in the Delivery Grouping Attributes to accommodate this requirement. Is there a way to extend the Delivery Grouping Attributes to accommodate this requirement or a User-Hook / API?
We are on R12.1.3 and not using WMS, although I do not believe WMS will help here.
