1099 - Print sort by State

Occasionally we have an audit request from a state for copies of 1099’s for suppliers we paid.

We use the AP method and currently the F045143 has the 1099 data from 2012, we would like to be able to reprint the 1099s, by state. I see there is a State field in F045143 but it is blank for all records, and reviewing the logic of R04514FP when it does an insert to F045143 it does not populate the state field. Is this used only for State fillings?

Has anyone had this request or any suggestions on how to print by State? Thanks.
