Upgrade version of OBIEE

Hello,
We have currently the version of 10.1.3.4 with 12.1.3 of applications,we are planning to upgrade to a more recent version, we are planning also upgrade Database version to 11g, we have 10.1.3.4.0.

To use a more recent version of OBIEE we need a specific version of Database?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
