Is there a (network) workaround for OMS to access RAC vip on IP range that is not accessible !
We have the following set up:
A 2 node 11.2 RAC cluster on Redhat Linux 5.2 set up on 192.XX IP address range. so public, scan, vip etc all have 192.XX addresses local to the chassis.
Is there a workaround to this issue besides rebuilding the RAC cluster on publicly accessible sub network e.g. 172.XX addresses ?See evidence below.
The 10.2 Oracle Grid OMS sits on our network the other side of a firewall and can access the nodes via 172.XX address.
From Grid OMS server
[oracle@o2hp127]-> telnet 172.27.116.36 1521
Trying...
Connected to 172.27.116.36.
Escape character is '^]'.
The issue as I understand it is that Grid OMS needs to access the VIP/listener on this address below to work properly
