Axiom 600 adding bricks

I have coming upgrade pillar which is adding two SATA bricks to 1x4 configure with software version 4.05.00. I check the oracle doc. ID 1436782.1
     Question: do I need run PI stats after added bricks? without downtime.   for R4, is PI stats same as PortBlaster?
                      do I need  do "Stage the AxX00_N9_999999-999999.tgz matrix to disable Compatibility Checking..."  if do, how can i get this patch.
 
                      I know PITMAN is for R5, portblaster is for R4, ( R3? ).. was PI stats is another set command ?

     any help..
