pause the requests

hi, guys,
my users submitted a few requests to run the reports in GL, the system responded so slowly, users complained the speed of the system. i think if we pause/stop some requests and remain only one request, the speed may faster, so i would like to ask whether there is any way to pause/stop the requests in running? thanks a lot.
