Calculation for On hand Qty

Hi,

I am curious to know how is the on hand Qty calculated in JDE E1 Inventory, i have a scenario and would like to know how JDE handles it:

If my commitments are more than my On hand Qty and my available, How does JDE handle this, will the On hand Qunatity stay as what is actually availaable or will it go negative?

hope I can get some ideas and help on this.
