Custom report assigned to document set is displaying output in pdf but we need it to display in Exce

  Hi Team,
We have created a new XMLP report with default output as Excel. We assigned this report to pickslip document set. So when we release the Sales order the pickslip report automatically runs and calls the new report which we have created . 

The problem here is the output of this new report is coming in PDF even thought we have defined default output as Excel. Can any please help us why we are getting the report output in PDF.

and any suggestion for report to display output in EXCEL.
