11i to R12 32bit/64bit
Apologies if this is not the right community, I was not sure where to raise this.
---
We have been testing an 11i to R12 upgrade for the last few months.
We have been running on RedHat EL 5.9 (32bit) with 22Gb RAM on a VMware environment (performance has been terrible)
I have now switched testing to the physical servers that we intend to use for go-live, these have 64Gb RAM.
What I am now seeing is low memory exhaustion and oom-killer randomly killing processes (including the database).
The reason for this is that the 32bit kernel uses low memory to manage all memory pages, so the fact that I have a large amount of memory on the server (mostly unused) is causing the problem.
