replication of table faces lag due to archive generated by other process

Hello,
We have a setup in which we are replicating two main tables to a server for reporting and online query by customer care executives (using Goldengate). The lag needs to be minimal between the source and destination.
Everything is fine till the amount of archive generated by the source DB is low. But as soon as there is generation of more archived log, due to DML in some other table or any other reason we observe lag in the replication of the tables used for reporting.

Please suggest if there is a way to avoid this lag.

Thanks,
Rajib.
