Items Gross / Tare weights definition

We know that items unit of measure conversion is defined based on Net weights in P41002 application.  Is there any way to define its Gross/ Tare weight ?
Example: Business wants this information of Gross / Tare weight to print on Packing slips.   Tare weight + Net weight makes Gross weight,  But how tare weights get pulled in ? is this like UDC customisation item category wise.   Looking for simple approach if customisation can be avoided
