Meter based on Actual Readings

Hi,I am trying to set up some meter PMs.
In the process there is a mandatory field for "Rate (per day)”. Some of the pumps they want set up only run as needed but will still need servicing based on the meter reading. Is there some way to do that where Oracle does not make the auto calculation based on "Rate (per day)” but on actual readings?
