extended warranty line

hi,

i was wondering if there was a way to indicate to link the start date of the extended warranty line to either the

1) end date of the warranty or

2) installed/ship date of the product?

currently we are putting manual holds on the extended warranty line becasue we are not sure when the part will become installed at the customer site. this requires us to update the extended warranty line after the part has shipped and release the hold. this is very cumbersome.

i recall seeing a ER logged against a smilar request. Is there any update?
