Refresh a View for Personlaisation to take effect

Hi,I have two applets in a view, and one of the applet will be hidden by default through personalaisatoin using a profile attribute. My requirement is to show the applet on click of a control in the visible applet.

This is working properly when i refresh the view using the address bar or while using go to view functionality. is there any other way by which we can refresh the view and this presonalisation to take place. I am working in Open UI environment.
