Diffrence b/w Credit Memo & Debit Memo Invoicing ??

Hi Gurus,

I am very new in AP, Here I just wanted to know the basic diffrence b/w the Credit Memo and Debit Memo Invoicing ??

If the Purpose of both is same i-e to Deduct the Actual Invoice and makes the Adjustment so how do we make the Diffrence b/w them ??
