table conversion importing file

we're running JDE E1 8.12 tools 8.98 upgrade 4.11 on a AS400

when running table conversion from the AS400 server, is it possible for TC to open (read) a text file via a unc path (which points to a MS network folder)?  (this used to be possible in E1 8.0 )
