LOV behaving differently after upgrade to 12.1.3

Hi,
We have a custom contract printing program.  The LOV for contract number used to list all the renewals(with same contract no.) prior to 12.1.3 upgrade, when user would enter a contract no.  Now, it just selects the first contract with that contract no. and users have to remember to enter a partial value.  Is there a way to fix this behavior?
