PROACTIVE HOWTO How to solve error: "This patch is not compatible with your current codelines"

Created this thread to provide the steps needed to solve compatible feature failing during patch.

Everybody is welcome to input new advises.

In patch log you will see errors like:

This patch is not compatible with your current codelines.

This patch is compatible with: entity 'ibe' - codeline 'R12.<PRODUCT>.A'.
Your current on-site codeline for the entity 'ibe' is: 'R12.<PRODUCT>.B'.

You should not apply this patch.

Apply an equivalent patch that is compatible with your current codelines instead.
