Can we use orig_system_reference column in HZ_Cust_account table; for storing Customer Legacy number

 Hi
We are doing data migration of customer from legacy system to Oracle AR.

Can we use orig_system_reference column in HZ_Cust_account table; for storing Customer Legacy number. What is the impact and where this column is used.

Other wise I have an option to use any attribute, which is not in use.
