Account number change in Planning application

The finanical system that we integrate with is upgrading to Oracle R12.  As part of this upgrade the account numbers will be changing adding additional digits to the number

What is the best practice for handling this change? I am new to Hyperion but I am guessing that I need to export the data, clear the Account dimension and load the Account dimension with the new account numbers and reload the data to Hyperion planning. But how do I convert the historical data to the new account number from the old account number?
