Reserve for Encumbrance Account

  Hi,
  Please let me know the account type of "Reserve for Encumbrance" account that need to be assigned in the Ledger Setup. Is it a Liability type account?

  The GL module has gone live some time back and in the ledger setup budgetary control was enabled and an EXPENSE type account was given as the Reserve for Encumbrance account. Purchasing, Inventory and AP  modules are still under testing stage.

  Do we need to change the account type? What is the impact of setting this as an expense account?

  Appreciate a quick response.
