7420 upgade hardware from one head to cluster configuration

HI, Expert...
   Customer has  7420 with 1x4 , need upgrade to 2x12 ( disk trays ).
   the current head hardware is x4470 with SP version SP 3.0.14.10.a.
   the new head hardware is x4470 M2 with SP version SP 3.1.2.24.

   Is this supported  config for cluster with diff hardware?
